Research seminar: "Revisiting Les Immatériaux" (9-10 June 2023)

During the past years, the art historian Andreas Broeckmann (Leuphana University, Lüneburg/Germany) and Marcella Lista together with the team of New Media Department of the Musée National d'Art Moderne, Centre Pompidou - in the context of its EU-funded project "Beyond Matter" -, have conducted research about the exhibition "Les Immatériaux" (Centre Pompidou, 1985), which, for the first time in decades, makes possible a comprehensive and interdisciplinary re-evaluation of this important historical exhibition.

The papers presented during this seminar are being considered for inclusion in a major print publication about Les Immatériaux, due to come out in 2024, which will document the exhibition in texts and images, as well as offer reflections on its contemporary significance.

The seminar will be held bilingually in French and English. No translation will be provided.
 

9 June : 14h - 19h : Salle Triangle, Centre Pompidou. A projection session "Ciné-Immatériaux" will be held starting with 19h in Cinéma 2, Centre Pompidou.

10 June : 10h - 13h30 : Bibliothèque Kandinsky
